Hollywood's big night has always been must-see television in my home. Back in the day, I would likely have seen most of the nominated movies. These days, not so much.
But the tradition survives. The allure of the live event never fades for me. From the chatter on the red carpet, to the inadvertent curse word from the podium, I'm in it till the bitter end, to catch those surprising little unscripted moments and spend the night with my favourite actors and actresses. These are the triumphant moments of the people who have excited my love of storytelling for as long as I can remember.
Break out the bubbly and enjoy! It's Oscar night.
